Changing Discs

If you own a CD-ROM version of Britannica 2003 and chose a Typical installation, you will be prompted to switch discs, depending on the feature you are using.

To change discs:

  1. When the disc-change prompt appears, don't click OK just yet—first  press your computer's CD eject button and remove the current disc.

  2. Windows users: if you get a message, click Continue, and proceed to eject the disc.

  3. Insert the requested disc and close the CD tray.

  4. Wait for the new disc to "spin up" and click OK if necessary to continue.

To avoid changing discs:

If you have over 1 GB of free disk space on your hard drive, you can avoid switching discs. Remove your current installation. To do this, you must uninstall the Britannica program, and re-install, choosing the One-Disk or Complete installation type. These installation types eliminate the need for disc-switching.
